My areas of expertise are Media Relations, Content Strategy & Development, and Project Management. Please see below for detailed information, examples, and testimonials.
1. Media Relations
Writing and Pitching Clients’ Stories—Obtaining News Coverage
I bring to every project a knack for generating media coverage. When pitching stories, creating press releases, and writing articles, I make sure that my client’s message is communicated in such a compelling way that editors and producers want their audiences to see and read it.
Select Accomplishments in Media Relations:
Designed and executed a media campaign to boost fundraiser attendance, visibility, and donations. The strategic targeting resulted in 500 people in attendance, four published articles (including in The Boston Globe), TV coverage, and a $100,000 donation.
Secured press coverage 25 times in 22 months, significantly raising brand recognition and communicating the expertise of a home care organization.
Regularly promote - in print and on social media - events for diverse clients, consistently resulting in standing room-only crowds (400-500).
Public relations campaign for a musician - “singer/songwriter Pam Steinfeld” - resulted in articles in over 15 newspapers (including The Washington Post Magazine), airplay at over 30 radio stations across the U.S. and abroad, and four cable TV interviews/performances.
“Pam significantly raised the profile of Mapendo International in Massachusetts. She has enormous talent for successfully pitching a story, versatile writing skills, as well as a sense of humor and professionalism that made her a tremendous asset to this office.”
— Sasha Chanoff, Founder and Executive Director of Mapendo International (now RefugePoint)
